Spring 2009 Schedules
Ankeny Soccer Club believes and supports the notion that playing in tournaments both at home and out of town is beneficial to the individual and to the team. The coaching staff feels that tournaments are a major part in shaping the development of the player both on and off the field. It provides opportunities for the player and the team to perform in a variety of situations and environments. The players must cope with multiple games in quick succession, deal with unfamiliar surroundings, accommodations, and different eating habits while maintaining optimum performance levels. The coaching staff spends a lot of time prioritizing events, identifying objectives, maintaining a healthy practice to games ratio, and looking at the developmental needs of each team before confirming the season’s tournament schedule.
Tournament Expenses
Tournament expenses, including tournament registration fees and coaches’ expenses, are paid by the team. These expenses are not included in the competitive program fee. A team treasurer will collect funds from each player to cover tournament expenses as they are incurred.
All players are expected to pay their portion of the registration fee for a club scheduled tournament. Each player pays even if he/she is unable to attend a club scheduled tournament. However, only the players attending the tournament must pay their portion of the coaches’ expenses.
Guest players are also expected to pay a portion of tournament expenses. This includes their portion of the COACHING EXPENSES ONLY.
